PREPARATION TIPS
-
Find a suitable area for your vehicle that is clean, dust-free, well lit, and has a room temperature of between 70°F - 79°F.
-
Have a table large enough to lay your paint protection film flat on.
-
Create your SLIP (Soap) solution by adding 3 drops of Johnson & Johnson Baby Shampoo to a 25oz spray bottle of filtered or distilled water.
-
Create your TACK (Alcohol) solution by adding 3oz of 70% or 91% Isopropyl Alcohol to a 25oz spray bottle of filtered or distilled water.
-
Clean the installation area and surrounding areas on your vehicle thoroughly and do a final wipe-down using a 1:1 Alcohol to water mixture. Verify that there is no dirt, wax, grease, or any contamination on installation surfaces.
-
Application is optimal on surfaces that are between 70°F - 79°F.
INSTALLATION TIPS
-
Ensure that your hands are clean and spray them down with the slip solution to prevent leaving fingerprints on the adhesive side of the PPF.
-
Spray the entire installation area with a light mist of slip solution.
-
Peel back the PPF and lightly mist it with slip solution and replace it back on the liner. Do this step in sections if working with a large piece.
-
Once ready, peel the PPF off the liner and position it on the vehicle. Spray more slip solution between the film and the surface of the vehicle if necessary.
-
Create tack points (usually top or corners of pattern) once lined up using the Alcohol solution by spraying it between the PPF and surface of the vehicle. Use a squeegee to apply even pressure to create a bond to the surface.
-
Work your way from center outwards using a squeegee.
-
Use warm water in a spray bottle to assist edges in laying down.
-
Let the vehicle sit for at least 18 hours to allow PPF adhesive to fully cure and excess solution to dry out.
POST INSTALL TIPS
-
With clean hands, run your finger firmly along all edges.
-
Do not wash your vehicle for at least 72 hours and avoid using a pressure washer to prevent edges from lifting.
